BMW X5 External Aerodynamics in Augmented Reality

BMW X5 External Aerodynamics at 90 km/hr in Augmented Reality. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Simulation with OpenFOAM in Augmented Reality (AR). CFD results are post-processed with Paraview and Blender. ARCore SDK and Unity3D are then used to visualize the results in AR. In this video, turbulence (Lambda2 iso-surface, streamlines and cross-sections) are countured by velocity. Special attention has been given to the reflection of the virtual content on the real mirrors. By using 3D cross-section, a 3D-eye reconstructed turbulence is achieved.
